Criminal vs. Civil Fraud

The main difference between a criminal fraud case and a civil fraud case is the way each is handled. In the case of criminal fraud, the person committing the act is prosecuted by the government. The guilty verdict or plea could result in probation, jail time, and/or restitution. On the other hand, in a civil
